Class B Motor Homes Everything You Need To Know

On of the most thrilling things is to rent an RV (recreational vehicle) and drive off across the country on a vacation. RVs are a great way to save when taking a vacation; the cost for a family of 4 in terms of air fares and hotel stays can add up. Renting an RV not only helps to make great savings it gives you enormous flexibility in terms of vacation plans.

RVs are also called motor homes and come with engines and can be driven. They are divided into 3 Classes: A, B and C, American style. Elsewhere in the world they may be referred to as Types A, B and C. This article focuses on Class B motor homes and the advantages and disadvantages associated with this class.

Class B motor homes are quite often called campervans because they resemble a regular van with a higher than normal roof. Driving and parking of these vehicles is easy, quite similar in fact to driving and parking a regular full size van.

You could describe Class B motor homes as something between a full size RV and a truck with camper and it looks very much like a camper truck in appearance. This is a very convenient option for someone who does not want to rent and drive a full size RV.

The benefits of Class B motor homes may be summed up to include: the complete ease of driving, very similar to driving a large van or truck, simply because its what it is. The motor home is built on the body of the truck or van as the case may be, depending on what you get. Another benefit is on gas mileage, because of the similarity to trucks and vans you will get better mileage. This vehicle is ideal for retired folks and couples on a budget. Even families with children use these vehicles to save on trips and the slide out beds can accommodate up to 6 persons.

Some of the amenities of Class B motor homes include but are not limited to: water filter systems, satellite systems, roof ladders, electric steps, security cameras and monitors and fan roof vents. You will of course get toilets and shower facilities, heating and air conditioning, kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves and other equipment and bedrooms with slide out beds.

Renting Class B motor homes is not very difficult as there are plenty of rental companies to choose from. You can enjoy a fantastic vacation without breaking the bank. You can also enjoy flexibility in planning your trip and can go off on spontaneous jaunts if you feel like.

You can of course consider buying but motor homes dont come cheap. People who are in the habit of taking several trips a year can consider buying but you will need a financier to back your purchase. You could however check out consignment lots, which allow dealers to sell RVs to individuals.
